What's the news?
Dutch sports car maker Spyker has announced plans to unveil a convertible version of the B6 Venator at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 16th. Little else is known about the car but it's is clear that the Spyder will have the same sporty styling as the coupé model that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show back in March.
Mechanicals
It is not explicitly stated but it seems likely that the B6 Venator Spyder will feature the same all-carbon bodywork and aluminium monocoque chassis as the coupé. Power will likely come from a mid-mounted V6 engine that develops 375hp and runs through a six-speed automatic transmission.
Anything else?
Officially the Spyder is badged as a concept but Spyker has already stated that the B6 coupé (itself shown as a concept in Geneva) will be put into production by 2014. If the Spyder follows suit expect prices in excess of £100,000.
