What's the news?
Toyota has updated the Aygo range with new trim grades, more safety equipment, new colours and roof decals. Four variants are available: Active, Active plus, Mode and Move. The range starts at £8,595 and is available now.
Exterior
There are no styling changes as such, but Mode and Move grades can be ordered with the new Nero Rosso colour scheme, which combines red bodywork with a black roof and co-ordinating interior gloss black trim. The Mode also comes with 14-inch, eight-spoke alloy wheels plus LED daytime running lights and colour co-ordinated door handles and mirrors. Napoli Blue paint is exclusive to Move grade and the 'Move with Style' includes six-spoke alloys and privacy glass.
Interior
Toyota has standardised the level of safety equipment across the range; VSC stability control, curtain airbags and ISOFIX child seat mounting points are now fitted to all Aygos. Also new on the Active grade is a 50:50 split rear seat with head restraints.
The Move features a portable TomTom navigation system that fits into a folding dock on the dashboard. Bluetooth, USB port and iPod compatibility come as part of the navigation package.
Mechanicals
One engine option is offered - Toyota's three-cylinder, 1.0-litre petrol unit. With the five-speed manual transmission fitted, CO2 emissions are 99g/km, rising to 104g/km with the MultiMode automatic gearbox. Fuel economy on the EU combined cycle can be as high as 65.7mpg.
Anything else?
A range of decals are available; the Union Jack design is offered in either red white and blue or monochrome; there is also a racing chequer design in white, gloss black or matt black.
