What's the news?
The new Range Rover Sport has now been released with four trim levels and three engines; and is on sale from £51,500. SE, HSE, HSE Dynamic and Autobiography Dynamic versions are all available from launch; each of which boasts high levels of standard equipment.
Exterior
A choice of 17 colours and seven alloy wheel designs feature on the new Sport; with standard 19-inch items fitted to the SE model. Further up the range the wheels are upgraded to 21-inch versions, bringing with them additional features such as a gloss black grille and a lighter finish for the exhausts on both the HSE Dynamic and Autobiography models.
Interior
Like the outside, Land Rover is offering customers high levels of personalisation inside with 11 colour schemes, four aluminium finishes and three headlining colours.
Standard equipment includes automatic wipers and lights, dual-zone climate control, HD satnav, voice control and heated front seats. HSE spec adds electric power to the front seats and heat to the rears, as well as a higher grade of leather, heated windscreen, paddle shifters and a rear view camera. Top spec versions come with mood lighting, adaptive cruise control with Queue Assist and a 23-speaker 1,700W Meridian surround sound system.
Land Rover's Park Assist and a third row of seats are optional extras on the new model; as is the Wade Assist function for the off-roaders among us.
Mechanicals
Two diesels and a hefty petrol engine are available from launch. The 258hp TDV6 and 292hp SDV6 make up the Sport's diesel units; while the 510hp supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine is only likely to appear on a handful of examples in this part of the world. Every engine comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and stop-start.
Air suspension and Land Rover's Terrain Response system are both standard fit items; although higher grade models get more off-road features with Terrain Response 2.
