Skoda has revealed that the Roomster and Fabia will soon sport the company's new logo that was first launched on the Citigo supermini in 2011. The Roomster and Fabia will be the third and fourth models to bear the new logo - after the Rapid was launched a few months ago.
The new badge carries over similarities to the old one; however, the change in colour is the biggest difference. The traditional winged-arrow is now finished in chrome and sits on a matte black background. A thin chrome circle marks the edge of the badge and the 'Skoda' lettering has been removed along with the laurel wreath.
In keeping with the simplicity of the new badge, Skoda's typeface has been revised too. The model name and engine designation have both received this makeover and all new models now come with 'Skoda' lettering on the back.
So, why the change in design? Skoda says that it marks the company's new growth spurt and corporate image that started two years ago. During this time Skoda UK won 19 major awards last year - and 18 the year before. The company also has plans to increase worldwide production to 1.5 million units by 2018.
