What's the news?
Mercedes-Benz has announced prices and specifications for the CLS Shooting Brake, the estate-like version of the popular four-door coupé. Available to order now the CLS Shooting Brake is priced from £49,360 on-the-road.
Exterior
The sleek, swooping Shooting Brake can be given a dose of automotive testosterone with the AMG Sport spec. Available as a £2,995 option this adds an AMG body kit, sports suspension and brakes, adaptive LED headlights and 19-inch alloys.
Interior
Much like the regular four-door model all versions of the CLS Shooting Brake come equipped with satnav, DAB radio and leather upholstery. Where the more practical CLS differentiates itself is with Easy-Pack Quickfold rear seat adjustment, an Easy-Pack load compartment cover and of course a cargo space measuring up to 1,550 litres.
As you would expect the options list is comprehensive with multiple trim designs and various types of leather to choose from. There is also a choice of three high-gloss wood types: brown burr walnut, black ash and light-brown poplar, as well as the use of piano lacquer trim elements.
Mechanicals
Three engines - two diesel and one petrol - are offered in the CLS Shooting Brake. The entry-level CLS 250 CDI BlueEfficiency Shooting Brake starts from £49,360 and produces 204hp, with a combined fuel economy figure of 53.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 139g/km. The £53,000 CLS 350 CDI BlueEfficiency Shooting Brake generates 265hp, combined fuel economy of 47.1mpg and 161g/km CO2. The single petrol offering is the 525hp 5.5-litre BiTurbo V8 engine found under the bonnet of the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake. Priced from £83,030 it emits 235g/km CO2 and offers 28mpg.
Anything else?
The Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake will be available to order next month, with first deliveries due in November.
