This year's Goodwood Festival of Speed will feature many historic, iconic and new models courtesy of Porsche, as the manufacturer celebrates ten years of the Carrera Cup GB. To mark the occasion, the latest 911 GT3 Cup car will be driven up the famous hill. The latest offering is powered by a 450hp 3.8-litre flat-six engine, and continues to be the best-selling racing car of all time.
Alongside the GT3, Porsche will be showcasing the historic 804 F1 car. The 804's revolutionary suspension and disc braking system led to many victories, including defeating Jim Clark's Lotus in 1962.
The 917 will also be featured, a car made famous by giving Porsche its first victory at Le Mans in 1970 thanks to its air-cooled, 580hp 4.5-litre flat-12 engine.
Additionally Porsche will display the iconic 1987 962 to celebrate 30 years of Group C. Deemed to be the most successful racing car of all time, the 962 achieved a 1-2-3 finish at its debut at Le Mans, and continued to win the event 12 years later.
As well as classic cars, Porsche's brand new 911 Carrera S Coupé and Carrera Cabriolet will feature in the Supercar Run. Although the new model's silhouette remains unmistakable, its all-new lightweight body and longer wheelbase improves stability, interior space and weight over the outgoing model.
The all-new Panamera GTS will be displayed, featuring a 430hp 4.8-litre engine and tweaked chassis to aid dynamism and agility.
Visitors will also be able to experience the versatile handling of the 400hp Cayenne S - with demonstrations taking place on a specifically designed grass circuit at Goodwood's Porsche Experience Centre.
