Nissan has announced its plans for this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, running from 28th June to 1st July. There will be a record attempt, the Juke Nismo concept will make its UK debut and the public can step in to the current Juke TV advert.
On the hill, stunt driver Terry Grant will set an 'odd yet entertaining' world record in a Nissan LEAF. More details will be released closer to the festival date. Last year Grant drove the entire course on two wheels.
Another electric car will be making a timed run up the Goodwood hill. The LEAF Nismo RC is set to become the first electric vehicle to make a timed run on the course. Petrol power will be represented on the hill by FIA GT1 champion Michael Krumm in a 540hp Nissan GT-R GT1 racing car.
The Latest GT-R 'Track Pack' will be on display in the Supercar Paddock and the Juke-R will be in the Cathedral Paddock. A more accessible performance version of the Juke will also be on display. The Juke Nismo gets engine, chassis and styling improvements and goes on sale in 2013.
Another Juke-themed experience is the chance to re-enact the 'Built to thrill' television advertisement. Willing participants will be strapped onto a multi-axle motion platform whilst wearing the latest 3-D head-mounted display. From jumping out of a virtual aeroplane visitors will earn points on the amount of 'Thrill' experienced. This is probably not an experience for people who suffer from motion sickness!
Gamers can participate in the GT Academy competition. In conjunction with Sony PlayStation Nissan is searching for the best virtual drivers to turn into real life racing drivers. The three best drivers at Goodwood will be put forward to the national finals.
