What's the news?
New M Performance Edition versions of the BMW M3 and M5 have been created exclusively for the UK market. Just thirty apiece will be produced, each one in a 'Frozen' paint colour, with special trim and extra equipment showcasing the BMW Individual options.
Exterior
BMW is offering its 'Frozen' colours in the UK for the first time. Customers can choose from Japan Red with a Frozen Red wrap, Frozen White or Frozen Blue. Both cars feature dark chrome trim and matt black wheels - 19-inch Y-spoke rims for the M3 and 20-inch double-spoke alloys on the M5.
Interior
Black leather upholstery is standard with contrasting red, white or blue stitching. The floor mats also come with contrasting piping, piano black interior trim carries a laser-cut 'One of 30' designation and the door sill trim features 'BMW M Performance Edition' script.
Mechanicals
The M3 comes with a seven-speed DCT transmission and variable M differential. BMW has also fitted the Competition Package as standard, including 10mm lowered suspension, Electronic Damper Control and a revised DSC+ system. Mechanically, the M5 is unchanged with 560hp from the TwinPower V8, active differential and electronic damping.
Anything else?
BMW values the extra equipment on the M3 at £9,790 and the M5 comes with £22,075 of extras. The M3 includes a DAB audio system with 13 speakers, heated front seats and parking distance control. For the M5 sun protection glass, soft close doors and a reversing camera are included. Prices are £74,080 for the M3 Performance Edition and £95,140 for the M5 Performance Edition.
