Skoda has announced details of a new limited edition version of its popular Yeti model. Called the Yeti Urban, it is aimed squarely at younger and more style-conscious buyers and features up to £2,450 worth of extras over the SE trim on which it is based - at no extra cost.
The Yeti Urban is available in two-wheel drive with a manual transmission and comes with a choice of two engines: the 1.2-litre 105hp TSI petrol unit or a 2.0-litre 110hp TDI diesel. Both offer decent economy of 44.1- and 52.3mpg respectively and emissions as low as 140g/km for the diesel variant.
Visually the Urban can be distinguished from the regular Yeti by the 17-inch black-and-chrome 'Matterhorn' rims, wheelarch extensions, chrome side strips, silver door mirror caps, silver roof rails and eye-catching roof stripes. Four exterior colours - Black Magic pearl effect, Candy White, Brilliant Silver metallic and Steel Grey metallic - are offered with no extra charges for metallic paint.
Inside, customers have the choice of red or black sports seats and sunset glass in the rear. They will also benefit from DAB digital radio (making the Urban the first Skoda to feature it as standard), uprated 'Amundsen+' satnav, Bluetooth connectivity and a multi-function steering wheel.
The Skoda Yeti Urban is on sale from the beginning of April priced at £16,900 for the petrol model and £18,330 for the diesel, but if you are interested in the pimped Yeti you better hurry as numbers are limited to just 750 examples.
