The Peugeot 508 HYbrid4 saloon will go on sale priced at £31,450 with CO2 emissions of 95g/km. It uses the same technology as the 3008 HYbrid4 with a 2.0-litre HDi diesel engine powering the front wheels and a 37hp electric motor on the back axle.
Combined power of diesel and electric motors comes to 203hp. Claimed performance figures are 0-62mph in 9.0 seconds and a top speed of 130mph. The combined cycle fuel economy is 78.5mpg.
Equipment levels are similar to those of the 508 Allure. It comes with keyless entry, cruise control incorporating a speed limiter and an automatic parking brake with Hill Assist. Satellite navigation is also included with Bluetooth and Peugeot Connect SOS and Assistance.
In addition to the new saloon the HYbrid4 system is offered in 508 RXH guise. This uses the estate body of the 508 SW with raised suspension for improved off-road ability. The RXH costs £33,695.
Both models can be ordered now with the RXH arriving in showrooms in May and the 508 saloon HYbrid4 on sale from July.
