Toyota has announced price and specification details for the refreshed Aygo range and introduced the world to a duo of new trim levels.

Available to order now ahead of first deliveries on plate change day, March 1, the new look Aygo starts at 8,495, while 9,095 will get you behind the wheel of the Aygo+, a saving of up to 105 over the 2011 model - though both cars come with the same equipment levels.

New higher specification models, called Fire and Ice, carry price tags of 9,595 and 9,895 respectively. The sporty Aygo Fire comes equipped with 14-inch alloys, front fog lights and LED daytime running lights, rear privacy glass, leather steering wheel and gear knob trim and a rev counter. Owners can also opt for a new Burnt Orange paint finish.

The Aygo Ice is more comfort orientated and features air conditioning, Alcantara and leather trim, a more powerful four-speaker sound system that is DAB-ready, Bluetooth and a USB port for connecting digital music players.

Whatever the specification all Aygo models are fitted with Toyota's 1.0-litre VVT-i engine that has been tweaked to deliver fuel economy of up to 65.7mpg - and in the manual version CO2 emissions of 99g/km - giving zero annual road tax and exemption from the London congestion charge.
