Following hot on the heels of the recently refreshed Renault Twingo comes the hottest car in the model's line-up, the Renaultsport Twingo 133. Set to take on the likes of the Suzuki Swift Sport and Volkswagen up! GT when it arrives in April the new Twingo R.S. adopts the new Renault corporate look with a sharper grille design, new headlight arrangement and prominent spotlights.
Like the rest of the Renaultsport range the Twingo's front bumper features an F1 inspired front 'blade' while around back a roof spoiler lords it over a specially designed back bumper complete with an integrated diffuser. Inside, trademark Renaultsport yellow stitching features across the steering wheel, seats and dashboard while gloss black trim accents the radio, rev-counter and air vents.
Under the bonnet you will find the same 133hp 1.6-litre petrol engine as in the previous generation car, which is capable of launching the supermini from 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 125mph. Despite the power the engine has been refined over time and is now, with combined economy of 43.5mpg, more fuel efficient and greener, emitting 150g/km.
The Renaultsport Twingo 133 is scheduled to go on sale in France in March so we can expect UK deliveries in April. Prices are thought to be around the same £13,000 point as the previous generation car.
