The wraps came off the new Kia Rio at the
Detroit Motor Show, the car that will eventually built at the South Korean manufacturer's new European factory in Slovakia from next year.
The Rio will be launched in Europe early in the summer with right hand drive vehicles arriving in the UK a few months later.
Kia UK PR director Steve Kitson said: "The Rio will be a big car for us because it completes our line up in the A, B and C segments with the
Picanto below it and Cerato above it."
The Korean company is the fastest growing manufacturer in Europe and the Rio, launched as a saloon for the United States market, will be sold as a five-door hatchback in the UK. It will come with all-new engines, 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre petrol plus a 1.5-litre four cylinder diesel, and manual and automatic transmissions.
The Car Enthusiast will test the new Rio later in the year so watch out for the review in the
Road Tests section.
