After throwing a couple of prototype versions around the Nürburgring 24 Hour race Aston Martin has announced that it will debut the first production version of the V12 Zagato at the upcoming Kuwait Concours d' Elegance. In its third year the event was seen as the ideal location to display the £330,000 (excluding local taxes) hand built car.
Launched, in prototype form, at the Villa D'Este Concours on Lake Como in May last year the V12 Zagato is being built in strictly limited numbers of up to 150 cars with first deliveries due in late 2012. The hand crafted car is based on the V12 Vantage but goes beyond the normal 'specialness' of Aston Martin by featuring a hand-crafted aluminium and carbon fibre body along with a bespoke interior. The V12 Zagato also boasts the power of the company's 6.0-litre V12 engine that produces 517hp and 570Nm of torque.
Dr Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin said "We are excited to show the new V12 Zagato for the first time in production form at the Kuwait Concours d'Elegance. Over 50 years since the introduction of the iconic DB4GT Zagato, Aston Martin and Zagato have collaborated to create this modern interpretation which remains true to the original focus of craftsmanship, performance and exclusivity."
