Jaguar is taking its 1961 original Geneva motor show E-Type to the Nürburgring's famous Oldtimer Grand Prix as part of the car's 50th anniversary celebrations.
The firm is also bringing along the car's original test driver, Norman Dewis, who competed at the Oldtimer event from the 1950s onwards. Dewis was also the man charged with delivering the first E-type to the Geneva show for its press unveiling in 1961.
Dewis said: "I raced a D-Type at the Oldtimer Grand Prix in the 1950s. This year is the 15th time I have been with Jaguar and it's a fantastic event. I'll be kept busy this weekend with some presentations to clubs, commentating and maybe a demonstration run. I just hope the renowned Nürburgring fog stays away."
Also taking part in the festivities will be 34 E-types competing in the E-type Challenge race series, with races on Saturday and Sunday.
The Nürburgring Oldtimer Grand Prix takes place from 12-14 August.
