Renault is to put the SM7 into production with its South Korean partner Samsung, and has revealed the first official images of the cabin ahead of the launch later this year.
The SM7 is a Korean-only model at present, but it has been hinted that the car may be exported to other markets and badged as a Renault. Based on a Nissan Maxima platform, the SM7 comes with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, but diesels may also be an option.
In the first official images of the new SM7's cabin, it's clear the car takes a European approach to luxury. Leather seats, a driver-oriented dash and twin sunroofs show the SM7 is as much about who's in the driving seat as who's sitting in the back. It's also billed to have the most spacious and luxurious cabin in its sector.
Renault and Samsung have yet to confirm prices or full specifications of the SM7, but they reckon the car will be in full production before the end of 2011.
