SEAT is ready to go with its attractions for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. There is a historic rally car, a number of off-track attractions and a classic SEAT 600.
On the hill the company will demonstrate the Ibiza Bimotor from the 1980s: a twin-engined rally car based around the Mk1 SEAT Ibiza. Power came from a 1.5-litre engine under the bonnet and another mounted in the boot. Together these produced 123bhp, which might not sound much by modern standards, but was enough for victory in the Spanish Gravel Rallies Championship.
For those who admire muscle power as well as horsepower SEAT is sponsoring the Goodwood Action Sports (GAS) arena. Over the four days of the festival action sport athletes will perform tricks on BMX and mountain bikes as well as motocross and trials motorcycles.
There is also the Club SEAT zone with football tricks, beat boxing and a graffiti wall. It is also the place for youngsters aged between 12 and 16 to register to get behind the wheel as part of the SEAT Young Driver Training programme.
In the FoS-TECH dome SEAT will showcase the IBE concept car. The IBE uses a 101bhp electric motor and is intended for urban driving.
SEAT will also be represented in the Cartier Style et Luxe concours d'elegance. A compact SEAT 600 will join some of the rarest and most beautiful cars in competition to be voted Overall Winner by the judging panel.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from 30th June to 3rd July.
