Jaguar has unleashed its 'most potent series production car ever', the XKR-S.
It gets a 542bhp version of the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine from the standard car - a 32bhp power swell.
It means a 0-62mph sprint in 4.2 seconds, and a quite astonishing 8.6-second run to 100mph. It has a 186mph top speed.
It's also relatively clean, with Jaguar claiming it's the only car in its class to put out less than 300g/km of CO
2. The Government still thinks it's a gas guzzler though, as it's in the top band for VED.
Jaguar gives little away in terms of what's been done to make the car so quick, but does say it has an "aerodynamically driven design," and is "not merely the quickest Jaguar ever, but the most agile, responsive and driver focussed."
No prices as yet, but expect £90,000-plus.
The company will also kick off its 50th birthday celebrations for the E-Type in
Geneva, hosting drives of the car at the Parc des Eaux Vives.
