Lexus has pulled out all the stops at the Tokyo Auto Salon, unveiling no less than five sporty special editions based on its road cars.
The CCS-R arguably spearheads them, based on the IS F and an anagram for Circuit Club Sports Racer. Despite the name, it's a diesel-hybrid estate version of the IS saloon.
Obviously not. It's an IS F but with its clothes ripped off and replaced by carbon fibre threads instead. The same material is used for the new aero parts, and there's a full roll cage, polycarbonate windows and yet more carbon for the interior parts.
The suspension is uprated, as are the brakes and exhaust system, and a proper mechanical limited slip differential is added. Nice.
The Club Performance Accessory version (pictured) is basically an F Sport pack for the car, turned up to 11, created by the Toyota performance people at TRD. It also gets some mechanical upgrades, including a titanium exhaust, magnesium wheels and, like the CCS-R, an LSD.
The remaining trio are an F Sport version of the CT 200h (the Lexus hybrid hatch), a Gazoo Racing version of the LFA supercar, and an LS 460 limo pimped by Toms, yet another Toyota/Lexus affiliated racing company.
This quintet is far from the only offering from the Toyota Corporation in Tokyo.
Head here to see what Toyota itself had to offer.
