Chip tuning is increasingly becoming the way to get no-hassle power gains from modern motors, and one of the leaders in the market, Superchips, has unveiled its latest tuning package, this time for the Audi TT RS.
There are a combination of changes to fuelling, turbo boost and ignition timing meaning an extra 65bhp is added to the Audi's output, boosting it from 335- to 401bhp. Priced at £445, the remap is suitable for all TT RS models from 2009 onwards.
Acceleration and throttle response should be suitably sharpened thanks to an extra 68.5lb.ft of torque on offer, putting the TT RS in the territory normally occupied by its bigger R8 brother. Although the modified TT has yet to be subjected to the stop-watch, the technicians behind the scenes expect the improved RS to better the standard cars 0-60 time, while the electronically imposed 155mph speed limit remains. Superchips claims that any increase in fuel consumption is negligible.
The car can quickly be set back to its original settings too, with the use of the company's Bluefin handset. Plugging into the car diagnostic port, the original ECU settings are saved, meaning even the most mechanically naïve can have complete control over the modification.
The remap carries Superchips' standard 12-month, 30,000-mile warranty and is available direct from its Buckingham base, or one of its dealers nationwide.
