The BMW 135i isn't exactly short on power or pace, but now owners can release the full potential of Munich's mini missile with a remapped engine control unit (ECU).
Fitted with the reprogrammed ECU from British firm Superchips, the BMW 135i's twin-turbo engine gains 49bhp to give 360bhp. Mid-rev shove is also swelled thanks to an extra 52lb.ft of torque to take the final figure to 336lb.ft at 3,250rpm.
Superchips has not revealed any performance figures for the upgraded 135i, but says it's confident that the reworked car will easily better BMW's factory 0-62mph time of 5.3 seconds. The 135i's electronically limited 155mph top speed remains.
There will be no drop in fuel economy with the reprogrammed ECU in the 135i says Superchips and the conversion comes with a 12-month, 30,000-mile warranty. It costs £445 to have a BMW 135i's ECU remapped at one of Superchips' official dealer across the UK.
