Two new Bentley special-edition models, could we be that lucky? Well, no, actually. It's those fortunate folks over in China who will be receiving the Continental GT Design Series China and the Continental Flying Spur Speed China. The cars will be officially unveiled at the Auto China Motor Show in Beijing this week. China is now the third most important market for Bentley.
The Continental GT Design Series China is effectively a standard Continental GT, but with distinctive design features. There is a three-tone interior with the typical wood and leather finishes, with such details available in a huge array of colours. The Design Series China will also be available with a rare Amboyna wood veneer, along with Piano Black and dark-stained Burr Walnut finishes. The exterior has been given design details, too. A 'Design Series China' motif is subtly placed across the wing, just to let everyone know that you're extra special.
The second edition is the Continental Flying Spur Speed China, which happily keeps its title of fastest luxury four-door saloon, but now features an array of engineering upgrades especially for the Chinese market. Bentley has created a bespoke 'comfort' suspension setting for even more comfort, presumably. The brand is keen to point out that despite the introduction of a softer set-up the Spur Speed China is still capable of 200mph and a 0-60mph time of 4.5 seconds. Finally, to finish off the enhancements, Bentley has re-tuned the exhaust to emit a quieter growl.
Both the Continental GT Design Series China and Continental Flying Spur Speed China will be at the Auto China Motor Show in Beijing, which opens to the public on April 23rd.
