Representatives of 192 countries are meeting from 7th to 18th December for the fifteenth Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. More concisely known as COP 15, the goal of the talks is an international agreement for tackling climate change. Representatives of the motor industry will be at the conference to demonstrate plans for reducing CO2 emissions.
The manufacturers will be holding a variety of conferences to indicate how they are tackling CO2 emissions. Main themes include cutting emissions from internal combustion-engined vehicles and the introduction of electric cars.
Peugeot will participate in the Climate Exchange from 3rd to 6th December and the 'Bright Green Event' on 12th and 13th December, which is a showcase for 'cutting edge' solutions to climate change. The company will display a 207 Economique, an i0n electric car and a 3008 hybrid.
From 8th-10th December Citroen's industry experts will showcase its strategy for ambitious cuts in CO2 emissions and 'managing sustainable mobility in the automotive industry'. The REVOLTE concept; C-Zero and Berlingo First Electric; C3 and DS3 models will all be on show.
Renault will allow delegates to test drive its electric vehicles. The Fluence Z.E. and Kangoo Z.E. represent battery-powered models that will go on sale from 2011. Although not a production model the Kangoo be bop Z.E. will also be available to drive.
