Feast your eyez on Project Zed, a Nissan 350Z-based dragster set to smash all kinds of speed records at Santa Pod next month. It's due to race at the FIA European drag racing finals from September 10th, and nothing less than absolute drag domination is expected.
Believe it or not, owner/driver John Bradshaw and his team have enticed 1,900bhp from the 3.5-litre V6 found in the
standard 350Z. How, they're not telling, but it will get to 62mph on just over a second and hit 168mph in 4.1-seconds. "It's incredible to finally have the car ready to test now and we are all very excited by its potential," said Bradshaw.
That's the same man, by the way, whose team set the fastest quarter mile time ever for a Nissan Skyline in its 1997 Skyline RWD GTST, crossing the line in 7.88 seconds at 177mph. That car had a paltry 1,150bhp however, so greater things are expected from the Zed.
