Audi has added a new motor to the A5 range. The 2.0-litre turbodiesel is the most economical version of Audi's four-seat coupé and will cost £28,485 when it goes on sale next spring.
Delivering 168bhp, this is the most powerful version of the new Audi common-rail oil burner. With 258lb.ft of torque going through a six-speed manual gearbox Audi claims the front-wheel drive version will do 0-62mph in 8.3 seconds. Other key figures include 53.3mpg on the combined economy cycle and carbon dioxide emissions of 140g/km.
The A5 2.0 TDI is available in both Sport and S-line trim. Both versions get 20mm lower suspension than the standard A5. The Sport has ten-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels while the S-line's alloys are the same size but of five-spoke design. Xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lamps and a body kit distinguish the S-line from other A5s.
The latest addition to the A5 range costs £28,485 on-the road or £30,010 in quattro form. Sport and S-line variants are now available across the A5 range and add £950 and £2,250 respectively to the list price. Both the 2.0-litre TDI and the S-line equipment will arrive in the UK in March 2009.
