What?
The team behind the Gran Turismo computer game worked with Citroen to produce a show car destined for the fifth edition of the popular Playstation game. The GT is long, low and dramatic - with an unusual knife-edge rear end. The theoretical top speed is in the region of 200mph and power comes from a hydrogen fuel cell, making this a zero emissions supercar.
When?
Gran Turismo 5 is scheduled for release around spring 2009 and that is as close to production as the concept will get. The chances of a real showroom model are nil, although some of the styling cues might resurface on future Citroens.
Verdict?
This is an old school concept car, where the designers' minds have been allowed to roam free. Whether designing a car for a computer game will increase the chances of customers choosing a Citroen as their next vehicle is debatable but it shows how seriously the Gran Turismo series is taken as a marketing tool.
