| Competition | Nissan/Playstation GT Academy |
The GT Academy kicks off its search for new racing drivers next week. Would-be racers will have to sign up to the online tournament that makes up the first round of the competition.
Nissan and Playstation have come together to find out if a computer game racing fan can turn into the real thing. The GT Academy will whittle down entrants over a seven week period.
They will then enter the second round, which takes the 20 fastest online drivers from each country entered and pitches them into battle to find the three quickest computer racers. This three will then head to Silverstone for the real thing.
At Silverstone, the finalists get to drive a Nissan GT-R on the famous track. They will also face mental and physical tests to find out who is made of the right stuff to go racing.
From these entrants, Nissan and Playstation will select two drivers who will win a four month race training programme and a drive in a 350Z racer at the Dubai 24-hour endurance event in January 2009. Further information is found at
