| International Engine of the Year 2008 |
For the second year in a row, BMW's 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol engine has been voted International Engine of the Year. The top honour added to BMW's haul of six category wins in the prestigious awards.
Peter Langen, BMW's powertrain director, said: "BMW rightly views these awards as the highest industry recognition. It is an honour for our 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine to have secured the highest possible accolade for the second year running and we are truly delighted that so many of our engines have been judged as class-leading."
Other winners for BMW included Best New Diesel of 2008 for the
123d's twin-turbo 2.0-litre and Best Engine above 4.0-litres for the
M5's 507bhp V10 motor.
