| New engine | Subaru Tribeca H6 |
The Subaru Tribeca H6 adds a new 3.6-litre flat-six engine to the Japanese SUV's line-up. Along with the new engine, the Tribeca H6 also introduces some styling changes.
With 256bhp and 247lb.ft of torque, the 3.6-litre engine drives through a five-speed automatic gearbox. So equipped, the Tribeca H6 covers 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds and has a top speed of 129mph. Fuel economy of 24.3mpg beats the current 3.0-litre model's consumption of 23.0mpg, while carbon dioxide emissions for the 3.6 drop to 275g/km from the 3.0's 291g/km.
Along with the mechanical improvements, Subaru has moved away from the first Tribeca's awkward styling with the introduction of new headlights, front grille, wings and bonnet. There's also a reshaped rear three-quarter window to allow more light into the cabin. This will be especially welcome in seven-seat versions of the Tribeca.
However, the bad news for potential Tribeca customers in the UK is that it looks likely the H6 model will not come to Britain.
