Kia's new KEE_wii concept car could be driven by drivers as young as eight thanks to new computer games-inspired controls. The Korean firm has developed its Full Orthopaedic Operating Control system so that drivers of all ages can sit anywhere in the car.
It has been developed by Kia's Advanced Propulsion Research Institute and Laboratory in New Zealand. The console that works the steering, throttle and brakes is called Dynamic On-Road Kinetics and works regardless of whether the driver is sitting in the front or back seats. Kia has also come up with its Independent Driver Input Operating Technique, which overcomes younger drivers' lack of visibility by using radar to avoid accidents.
Kia is now calling on the government to reduce the legal driving age to 8-years old ahead of the KEE_wii's launch in exactly one year's time.
