| Pricing announcement | Honda Accord for UK market |
Honda wants its new Accord to take on the German holy trinity of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz when it goes on sale on 1 June. To achieve this, the Japanese firm has announced that prices will start at £19,250 and its best-selling ES GT model will cost £20,100.
The ES GT comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, half leather interior, climate control, a sporty body kit, cruise control and sports suspension. Below the ES GT in the line-up sits the ES, while topping off the range is the EX that has standard satellite navigations and full leather interior.
Two petrol engines and a brand new diesel will be offered in the Accord. The new diesel is a 148bhp 2.0-litre unit, while the petrol options are a 154bhp 2.0-litre and a 198bhp 2.4.
The Honda Accord saloon will be followed by the Tourer estate, which goes on sale on 1 September in the UK.
