Subaru is at it again, teasing us with a darkened shot of its new Forester SUV in the same way it did with the
Impreza WRX STI. This time, we get a vague idea of what the next Forester's rear end will look like on a Japanese website set up to promote the car.
Subaru has confirmed it will release a full set of clear pictures of the Forester on 25 December as a Christmas present to the loyal band of Forester buyers around the world.
The new Forester is based on the same platform as the latest Impreza to bring new levels of handling and refinement to the Japanese firm's SUV contender. A 2.0-litre engine will be the first offered when the Forester goes on sale in the UK in the spring of 2008, followed by a 2.5-litre petrol engine and Subaru's all-new 'boxer' turbodiesel engine in September.
The new Forester will find itself in the thick of SUV competition as the new Honda CR-V is expected to go on sale shortly after the Subaru. No prices have been announced for the Forester, but expect them to be slightly up on the
current model's.
