| All-new Model Preview | Frankfurt Motor Show | Renault Clio Sport Tourer |
When the doors are unlocked to the
Frankfurt Motor Show next month, the Renault stand will be at the top of our list to visit thanks to an extensive display of world debuts, including five new production cars and two 'attention-grabbing' concepts.
Unfortunately, the latter are secret until the first press day on September 11 and indeed some of the showroom models are a mystery too. We suspect that one may be an SUV, based on the Koleos concept car and perhaps another is a Renaultsport version of the new
Twingo supermini.
We believe that the new
Laguna hatch and Sport Tourer account for two premieres, while the final new car is the Clio Sport Tourer pictured here.
Based on the
Clio Grand Tour concept displayed at the
Geneva Show in March, the new Clio estate was designed as a combination of style and practicality. Hence, it offers a significant chunk of extra space over the hatchback and we suspect more flexibility in the load area too. Renault's designers have retained the stylish sloping rear window and the car is likely to be marketed as a lifestyle wagon rather than the practical choice.
Keep an eye on our
Frankfurt Show page for further news.
