What's all this about?

It's a special edition of the Range Rover Evoque, called the Landmark.

And which landmark is it celebrating?

The landmark of phenomenal ongoing sales success. Despite being six years old - that's right, it launched way back in the misty past of 2011 - March 2017 was a record-breaking month for Evoque registrations in the UK. Fully 6,781 were bought here, out of a total of nearly 18,000 registered worldwide, showing that our love affair with the smallest Rangie shows no signs of abating. Indeed, 600,000 examples of the Evoque have been built at the Halewood plant in Liverpool since 2011. The world just cannot get enough of 'em.

OK, so what makes the Landmark special?

Grey. Lots of grey. It comes in one of three colours - Yulong White, Corris Grey and Moraine Blue, the last of which is a special, premium paint option and which was apparently 'inspired by the turquoise lakes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains' - and it also wears a subtle body kit, but you'll most easily identify one through spotting one of its many grey features. Like the fixed panoramic roof with a Carpathian Grey surround. Or the Gloss Dark Grey 19-inch alloys. Or the front grille, wing vents and lettering (on the bonnet and boot) that are all rendered in Graphite Atlas. Inside, there's grey for the centre console trim and Light Lunar contrast stitching (yup, grey) for the Ebony leather seats.

What about equipment?

As standard, the Landmark comes with keyless entry and a Powered Gesture Tailgate, while options include the 10-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment with Spotify and 4G Wi-Fi hotspot facilities, the Remote Premium app (which allows the owner to check the car's fuel level, door locks and location, or even to pre-heat or cool the cabin) and Touch Pro Services for real-time traffic mapping, street level views and more.

And how much is the Evoque Landmark?

It'll start from 39,000 for a Td4 manual model once order books open following its debut at the Royal Windsor Horse Show today (May 10, 2017).

Anything else you'd like to add?

Not us, but Jeremy Hicks, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover, said of the Landmark: "The Evoque has been an indisputable success. It's our biggest selling model in the UK and continues to thrive six years after launch. It's a fantastic achievement and worthy of celebration. The Landmark edition has new dynamic detailing and a distinctive aesthetic which takes its design credentials to an even higher level - it looks fantastic and we know customers will love it."
