So, you're probably sitting there thinking that you'd buy a Jaguar F-Type, you really would, if only it were just a little more powerful, a bit more insane. The 'regular' 550hp provided by the supercharged V8 R just isn't enough for you, but it's OK - Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations Team feels your pain. It has therefore tasked its resident Igors to throw the switches on a properly monstrous power upgrade for the F-Type and created the F-Type SVR.
An extra 25hp, bringing power to 575hp, doesn't sound like all that much, but it's enough to make the F-Type as quick as a pukka supercar. Top speed is now claimed to be 200mph, and apparently it'll destroy the 0-62mph time in just 3.7 seconds. That's only 0.1 seconds slower than a 1992 XJ220, once upon a time the fastest car in the world...
There are some major aero tweaks to help keep the F-Type from turning into an F-14 at speed - a bigger front bumper and splitter, a massive rear wing and diffuser will all help keep it glued to the tarmac. Lightweight forged alloys, a titanium exhaust and carbon-ceramic brakes help save a few kilos too.

"The new F-Type SVR is the first series production Jaguar to be developed by Special Vehicle Operations and benefits from everything we know about precision engineering, performance and design. The result is a 200mph, all-weather supercar that you can drive every day - we even made a Convertible version so that enthusiasts can revel in the sound from the new titanium exhaust system" said John Edwards, Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations.
