Wow, is that a new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Targa?
Yes it is; however did you tell?
Well, it's obvious. There's a new bumper with active air intakes, a new engine cover, new headlights and altered door handles and mirrors. Obvious, isn't it?
Are you something of a Porsche anorak by any chance?
Well, I do have a Martini Racing jacket if that's what you mean.
Well then you'll know that these cars are now coming with the same 3.0-litre turbo flat-six engine that we saw launched in the regular Carrera 2 and Carrera S models last month. You can have them with either 370hp (for the Carrera 4) or 420hp (for the Carrera 4S) and the 0-62mph times have dropped to 4.1 seconds and 3.8 seconds respectively. That makes them both faster than their two-wheel drive siblings. The C4S now has a top speed of over 190mph too.
The Targa remains more or less unchanged - same ultra-cool roof and similar performance to its coupé siblings. All models now come with new active suspension, which is 10mm lower than before. There's a hydraulic ram that raises the front ride height by 40mm if needed for speed bumps, while four-wheel steering is now an option.
Inside, there's the same heavily revised interior you'll see in the two-wheel-drive versions with a new seven-inch touchscreen running both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Prices start at £81,398 for the Carrera 4, rising to £99,684 for the Targa 4S.
