What's this then?
This is the inside of the new Audi Q7. The hulking great SUV is getting a lightweight makeover this year and the all-new model gets an all-new interior, inspired in part by the pared-back cabin of the new TT.
Is it going all sporty inside?
Not quite, although it does get the all-digital instrument binnacle, with full-width Google Maps satnav, from the TT right enough. Unlike the TT though there is a big central display too, so at least the front seat passenger will have something to look at.
It'll also be the first Audi model to come with both Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto built-in phone connections as an option. Volkswagen is working hard to get its modular electronics suite rolled out and ready to connect to ever-more complex smartphones and it could eventually prove as important as the modular oily bits of the MQB platform.
The Q7 also gets a high-speed LTE connection courtesy of a Qualcomm processor, which will allow it to access online services such as Google Earth and Street View, to make better use of the satnav.
As with the TT, the physical button count is pared back as far as possible, with everything being controlled by the Multi Media Interface (MMI) system and a new OLED touchscreen. It's one of the first cars to get gesture control too. In the back, the rear seat passengers get a new Audi Tablet each, which clip into the back of the seats and connect to the car's infotainment system.
