What's all this about?
German tuning firm Techart, known for fettling Porsches, has turned its attention to the Macan S Diesel SUV, offering an ECU re-flash to give the motor a bit more oomph.
What has the company managed to elicit from the car?
The Techart Power Kit TA B95/SD1 (there's a really exciting name for you) boosts the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel's figures from 258hp at 4,000- to 4,250rpm and 580Nm from 1,750- to 2,500rpm, to 300hp from 3,300- to 3,700rpm and 670Nm at 2,400- to 3,100rpm. We'll save you doing the maths by telling you they are 42hp and 90Nm increases respectively.
What does that do to the Macan's performance?
The 0-62mph time drops 0.4 seconds, from 6.1- to 5.7 seconds, while the 0-100mph time also tumbles to 15.7 seconds, previously 16.5 seconds. The top speed increases to 147mph, instead of 143mph.
Anything else you'd like to add?
The Techart power kit is only active when you press the Macan's Sport or Sport+ buttons, while it is also covered by a two-year warranty.
