In the same week we drove the Nissan 350Z for the first time, Nissan announced that the convertible version would be sold in the UK. Carlos Ghosn (Nissan CEO) described the company's decision as a "no brainer" and if it's as good as its coupe stable mate then the decision of what convertible to buy for £30,000 is also a "no brainer".
The convertible will be shown
in Paris later this month and will go on sale in a month or two, once the engineers at Cranfield have finished fettling the chassis with recalibrated settings to cater for the more demanding European market. The roof drops at the touch of a button in only 20 seconds and once down drivers will be able to sample the aural delights of the V6 via a new specially developed exhaust bespoke for the drop-top. If it's better than the coupe's then a lot of people will buy the car just to listen to that!
Other modifications include buffet reducing changes to the A-pillar and interior to ensure pain free top down cruising. Specifications are expected to be the same as the coupe, but expect a 10% premium.
