Been anywhere interesting?
Not very far away from home, but there's been a lot of moving friends and families around the place throughout Christmas and the likes. I was only too happy to be designated driver given the number of parties there were to attend and though the Mazda2 is the smallest car in Mazda's range, it copes just fine with a full complement of passengers and their party swag. There have been a few motorway journeys, but most of the time the Mazda2 has been used for shorter city trips, which it excels at.
Anything stand out...?
Well the styling obviously. Despite the grey paintwork, the Mazda2 is difficult to ignore, especially in Sport specification complete with snazzy alloy wheels. It's one of the best looking cars in its class we reckon. It's also very generously equipped, with auto lights and wipers a real boon at this time of year.
...and for the wrong reasons?
Those automatic wipers are good, but they don't seem to respond to the typical light drizzle we experience in Britain for some reason and the rear wiper doesn't reach enough of the window for my liking. Fuel economy is not quite what we expected either, though that could be partially due to the stop-start nature of most of the car's trips so far.
Where next?
Surprisingly, despite what feels like constant usage, the miles are not piling on as quickly as we thought they would, so a few longer journeys are being planned at the moment. A decent run on the motorway should see that fuel economy improve somewhat. I'd love to bring the 2 to work everyday too, but with our office right in the centre of London that isn't too practical or cost effective, so most of my time at the wheel will be in the evenings and weekends.
