2018-10-04: Driven: Ford Mustang GT Convertible

The American drifting champion, Vaughn Gitten Jnr, has become the first person to drift around the entire 13 miles of the Nürburgring circuit in his modified 5.0-litre Ford Mustang RTR. Whilst previous records have been all about speed, Gitten's lap, for which no lap-time has been released and which consumed three sets of tyres, was all about "having a good time, not a lap-time." As a result, the Mustang spent the whole attempt sideways, as you might expect. The car was modified with a 65-degree steering lock and a performance kit by RTR in order to complete the record run.
