Ford has unveiled its Ranger Raptor, a hotter, tougher version of its popular Ranger pickup, at the Gamescon trade-fair in Cologne. Designed for serious, high-speed off-roading, the Ranger Raptor sees Ford's 213hp 2.0-litre twin-turbo EcoBlue diesel engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and a whole host of improvements designed for hardcore mud-plugging, such as specially-designed suspension, a reinforced chassis and chunky tyres. It's an aggressive, purposeful looking thing too with a grille inspired by the Ford F-150 Raptor, flared, composite arches to shrug-off knocks and thick steel underbody protection. The launch at Gamescon comes as part of a tie-in between Ford and Microsoft with the Ranger Raptor to feature in the upcoming Forza Horizon 4 game for Xbox One.
