Indianapolis Motor Speedway - August 07 1999
An uneventful Brickyard 400 saw the No.88 Quality Care /Ford Credit Taurus of Dale Jarrett take victory. This win is Jarrett's fourth of the season and keeps him top of the series standings with a 274 point lead over Mark Martin. The third caution of the race on lap 147, saw the stage being set for the Jarrett win. When the race restarted there were 13 laps to the end. Jarrett opened up a significant lead over Bobby Labonte to take the win. He matched Jeff Gordon in being the only driver with two wins at the Brickyard. NASCAR moves to the road circuit of Watkins Glen on August 15th. We'll report on that as usual. Murph |
