25 July 1999

June 20th 1999 the place Pocono Raceway, the winner, Bobby Labonte. There must have been a sense of deja vu last Sunday July 25th when Labonte took his Interstate Batteries Pontiac down Victory Lane for the second time this season at Pocono. Rain and on-track incidents made the going on the day hectic. The winner had to endure nine cautions but his tenacity was rewarded with a well deserved win.
Pontiac were victorious, but Ford came close

Labonte now lies in third place in the series standings 283 points behind the leader. Dale Jarrett, the series leader brought his No.88 Quality Care/Ford Credit home in second place to keep him 254 points clear of Mark Martin in second place. The next round of the series takes place on August 7th at the 2.5mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We hope to resume our full coverage of the season then.
