Just to prove that his win in Long Beach was not a one off Juan Montoya took his No. 4 Target Reynard Honda to victory again on Sunday at the one mile oval of Nazareth. Starting from pole Montoya took an early lead in the race however he was to be passed towards the first round of fuel stops by a charging Helio Castro Neves. Castro Neves had sensational speed and drove a storming race but, unfortunately it only lasted until lap 170 when he spun and hit the wall. The following Montoya seized his opportunity and led all the way to the chequered flag to take his second win in four outings. Overall it was not a very exciting race but Montoya's pit crew helped to add a little by getting him out ahead of the competition during the fuel stops. This race result has brought him from championship outsider to championship leader two points clear of Adrian Fernandez. The Car Enthusiast will be bringing you details of the next round from Rio De Janeiro (May 15th) on May 21. Murph (Email) |
