Show Dates: 19th-31st October 1999 Mitsubishi Motors will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary in the UK at this years Motor Show in Earls Court, London. It will be 25 years since Mitsubishi Motors exhibited for the first time in the UK and Europe, launching the very first Lancer/Galant models. The Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin (also known as Pajero Pinin and Montero Pinin) was designed in Italy by Pininfarina, the first time it has been involved with designing a 4WD vehicle. The Pinin is the first ever European SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) to use a GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) engine. It will compete head on with the Suzuki Vitara, Land Rover Freelander and the Honda HR-V. Also on show will be Mitsubishis new generation Carismas and Galant, the award winning Shogun, the niche market recreational vehicle 4-Life Double-Cab Pick-Up and the Space Star and Space Wagon. Mitsubishis totally new Space Runner, a compact five seat people carrier, will be on the stand to gauge public reaction also. MotorsportMotorsport fans can see the rally-winning Evolution VI on Motorsport Days, 27 and 28 October, as driven by Tommi Makinen, who is one of the favourites to win the 1999 FIA World Rally Championships.
