PEUGEOT AT THE FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW 1999

(Peugeot UK press release, 06 September 1999)

Peugeot is doubling the size of its stand at this years Frankfurt Motor Show to display 34 separate models including a world premier of the new large luxury saloon - the Peugeot 607.

For the first time Peugeot scooters will also form an integral part of a presentation which reflects the breadth, style, technical ability and innovation of the current Peugeot range.

The Peugeot 206 coupe-cabriolet makes another appearance in concept form prior to its European launch planned for the spring of 2000.

It is surrounded by multiple versions of 206 range including the high performance 206 GTi, 206 Roland Garros with its original panoramic glass roof, the 206 Grand Tourisme and the 206 World Rally Car recently released from its duties in the Finnish rally.

Future technology in the form of a new 3.0-litre V6, 210bhp petrol engine and a super efficient 136bhp direct injection HDi diesel engine are on display. The diesel engine will make its debut in the 607 range and will be the first to benefit from Peugeots revolutionary exhaust particle filter announced earlier this year.

The restyled 406 executive and coupe range, together with 106 city cars, the multi-million selling 306 range and the highly versatile 806 MPV range complete the Peugeot line up.

More details (and pictures) will follow in our full Frankfurt Show report.
