Last update - 07 July 2001 Kelvin has been busy this week. As well as a report and pictures from the Donington Park round of the BTCC, he was one of the first journalists to drive the new MG ZS-180 saloon. The Car Enthusiast is now selling the contributors photographs in printed format. Send us an email to find out more. If any of our readers think they are up to being part of The Car Enthusiast team, please let me know, Shane - Ed. |

Item 9 of 13: BMW 7-series Chris Bangle is responsible for the daring looks of the new BMW 7-series. I am surprised it was passed by the powers that be. The production car leans heavily on the BMW Z9 concept and quite likely shows the way forward for the BMW range. The looks pale into insignificance however, next to the radical interior. Basically, minimum clutter is the aim. What this means is that one large rotary dial controls the ventilation system, the audio and entertainment system, navigation and telematics applications. A central computer monitor displays the various functions and the chosen setting selections (the Comfort zone). All driving functions are centred around the steering wheel itself (the Driving zone). New engines and a six-speed automatic transmission top off a very large step for BMW's flagship model. << item 8 item 10>> |
