AC Cars (now called The AC Car Group) is Britain's oldest car manufacturer. AC vehicles have been in continuous production in one form or another since 1901. An engineer, John Weller set up originally in South London - a then risky venture to make these new "autocars" that the world was in a buzz about!

Production developed through to the '50s when the first Ace was born. This was the base for the famous, much-imitated Cobra. In 1965, this car won the Sports Car World Championship. However, things seemed to go downhill for AC then. The name was sold to Ford and Autokraft Ltd. in 1986. Even a move to Brooklands could not save AC from receivership in 1996. This is where The AC Car Group Limited stepped in with a pledge to make AC great once more. I think that they just may be successful.
