(Vauxhall press release)
VECTRA DESIGN ADDS MORE LUXURY: BUT ONLY FOR FIRST 1000 CUSTOMERS

The Vectra range gets another boost with the launch next month of a stunning special midnight black edition called Vectra Design Edition.

The Vauxhall Vectra Design Edition is needed to boost the image of the current Vectra range.

The Design Edition is expected to become much sought-after - since only 1000 will be produced with their own unique beige leather interior trim.

The new Vectra Design Edition is available in saloon, hatchback or estate versions, and with a number of top end engine options.

The extensive specification list is based on the already generously equipped Vectra CDX, but with its own significant design enhancements.

Features unique to the Vectra Design Edition include:

  • Champagne coloured alloy wheels
  • Champagne coloured roof rails on Estate models
  • Beige leather interior, including leather handbrake gaiter and door panels
  • Alloy sill plate
  • Vectra Design Edition floor mats
  • Passenger seat height adjuster
  • Metallic midnight black paint
All these are in addition to those features already specified on the top of the range Vectra CDX, the list of standard items including ABS, TrafficMaster, driver and passenger airbags, remote audio controls, steering adjustment, front centre armrest, CCR 600 radio/cassette/CD player, seven function trip computer, side airbags, electric sunroof and electronic climate control.

Engine choice
Vectra Design Edition is available with three engine choices, a 2.0-litre 16v, a new diesel unit in the form of the 2.0 litre DTi and the 2.5 litre V6.

The 2.0-litre 16v engine features two gear driven balancer shafts to eliminate vibration and reduce noise. Vauxhalls recently introduced hi-charge 2.0 litre 100PS DTi (turbo diesel) combines multi-valve and direct injection technology to offer a diesel satisfying to drive, but economical to run.

The Vectra Design Edition is in the showrooms from mid-November. On the road prices start at 19,300.
